Neem Oil

QUESTION: Is neem oil considered a "fine horticultural oil." ?
I read your recipe for the baking soda solution and I do have neem oil.
Is it ok to use the neem oil in this recipe?
And would ivory dish soap be a good choice for the liquid soap?
Thanks very much and thanks for all the good info your site gives us all.
ANSWER: Hi Frank! Neem oil comes from the pressed fruit and seeds of the Neem tree, an evergreen tropical tree from the Indian Subcontinent.
It is very effective for controlling powdery mildew, black spot on roses and rose pests and diseases in general.
It is not a Horticultural Oil, which is a refinded vegetable oil.
I do think you can use Neem Oil in place of the other oil for the baking soda recipe.
And the Ivory Dish Soap is perfect.
