Queen Elizabeth Roses And Beetles

by Damjan

I have an infestation of beetles on my QE rose bushes. Help
I have been removing them by hand but it is a losing battle.

Hello Damjan,
There are several kinds of beetles, but the Japanese beetles seem to be the most serious pests in the eastern states and eastern Canada.

You can recognize them for their bronze bodies and metallic heads.

Handpicking is good, but you need to treat the soil and lawn with milky spore.

This work for the Japanese beetles but not all others.

So you need to see what kind of beetles you have.

Spraying with Neem oil is very effective and also a suitable insecticide.
