Rose Blooms Drying Up Too Soon

QUESTION:
My roses are beautiful when they bloom, but the very next day they are nearly paper dry. Our temperatures are unusually high, but I do water every other day.
Cheryl

ANSWER:

Hello Cheryl,

The reason for rose blooms drying up so soon are because of the high temperatures. Rose petals have fluids and hot sun will dry them out, resulting in dry rose flowers.

Also, a contributing factor could be that some rose varieties do not hold their flowers very long, even under optimal weather conditions.
So combining that with very hot sun will cause the rose flowers to get spent very soon.
