And the rugosas are also the most pest and disease resistant of all the rose bushes. It's super important to pick the right spot for your hedge. The planting site should have open space on both sides, to provide air circulation, which helps to cut down on any fungus problems. Roses like good air circulation. The planting spot must have full sun with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.
