Safe Baking Soda Spray for Roses

QUESTION:

Please tell me about the safe non-toxic baking soda spray for roses.

ANSWER:

Hello Lynda,

Here is my recipe for an organic safe baking soda spray for roses.

In a gallon jug add the following ingredients and mix well.

2 tablespoons baking soda
2 tablespoons Ivory dish soap
2 tablespoons hoticultural oil (available at garden centers.)
1 gallon of water

Mix well and pour into a spray bottle. Do not spray your roses during midday when the sun could burn the leaves.

Only spray during the early morning hours.

When you spray you should be sure to spray the undersides of the foilage carefully.

As well as the canes.

There are also some very good organic commercial fungus spray available.

Here is my page about organic rose spray.

I use these myself if I spot fungus on my roses.

I recommend that you inspect your rose foilage daily so you can take action right away.

That's when you will be most successful getting rid of the fungus.
Best Regards,
Annelie
