'Stairway To Heaven' RoseThis climbing 'Stairway To Heaven' rose has beautiful ruffled flowers that keep on blooming. The buds are long and pointed and very pretty. The foilage is dark green and has been very healthy here in Southern California. The hardiness of this rose is pretty good. However, very few climbers if any, can survive zone 5 or colder without Winter Protection For Climbing Roses. There is a light sweet rose fragrance. The height is about 10-12 feet. Growing Climbing Heaven Rose Stairway
When I first planted rose 'Stairway To Heaven' in the spring of 2002, it took off like crazy. Very unusual for a climber. By mid-summer it was covering a large white fence and was blooming with fantastic abundance. I trained the canes horizontally along the top of the 5 foot fence, so the roses could spill over the top. The fence backs up to a sidewalk, so my neighbours and passersby were delighted with the display of red roses from rose 'Stairway To Heaven'. Zone 5-10. Height 10-12 feet.
