Using drift roses in West Texas area - like Midland, Texas

by Jean Pittman

QUESTION

I have had good luck with knock out roses in my beds for four years even though our summers are very hot and winters have several freezing times (in Midland, Texas). My gardener has mentioned planting a long border in one of our flower beds using the drift roses because they were grown to be hardy like the knock out roses.
Thank you
Jean

ANSWER
Hello Jean,
Yes, I recommend the drift roses.
They are very cold hardy, but they are also very useful in many planting situations.
Drift roses come in a variety of colors and I personally love them.
