Well established roses

Your rose question: hi there! My husband and I bought a house last summer that has well established climbing roses.

I need advise on pruning climbing roses of this size. The roses are dormant now but won't be for long. The canes are falling over and they definitely need trimmed up.

We have no experience caring for roses so any advise on pruning or care tips would be greatly appreciated. The pictures are from last summer.

Hello Cassie,
If you read my page about pruning climbing roses, you will have all the information for taking care and trim bank established climbers.

I should add that you should remove a few of the oldest canes at the base.
This will result in newer canes growing, and newer canes flower better than very old canes.
