QUESTION: I am installing a 4 foot picket fence and an arbor in my front yard, which faces South.
What is the best type of rose to plant there?
Does the fence and arbor take the same kind of rose?
ANSWER: In front of the fence you can plant regular rose bushes, such as Types Of Cold Hardy Shrub Roses.
The Morden Blush is my favorite.
For the arbor a climbing rose such as William Baffin Climbing Rose, one on each side, would be ideal.
Since you live in a cold climate zone, I have only selected roses that will survive the sub zero New York winters.

Annelie
