Winterizing Rose Bushes

QUESTION:
I live in Florida. Is there anything I could do to equal the north's winterizing? Or maybe I do nothing. This is the first time I have seen your site and it is quite informative. I am first time rose grower, and loving it.
Thanks
ANSWER:
Hello Pat,
In Florida you don't need to winterize roses, unless you have a frost weather alert.
I do remember the orange growers having problem with frost some years.
But Fort Meyers average winter temperature is 75 F. So you do not need to winterize roses at all.
Here is my page about growing roses in Florida.
You can choose any of the roses that I list there.
Best Regards,
Annelie
